Punishment to killers demanded

The victim is Shahzadee Sonia Swapna, 22, daughter of a freedom fighter and former upazila chairman Gias Uddin Ahmed. She was also a first year student of MA class of the college. She succumbed to her injuries when her neighbour Aditya Sarker, 26, and two of his accomplices Hazrat Ali, 20, Zilan, 22, sprayed kerosene on her person and burnt her in her father's house in Bandutia area in the town on November.

Principal Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury, Prof Abul Islam Sikdar, students Zohurul Alam, Zinnah Khan, Bozlur Rahman, Shameem Ahmed, Mamunur Rashid, Rafikul Islam, Sajahan Parvez, Haidarul Habib, Kamrul Hasan, Sumon, Motiur Rahman, Shefali Akter, victim's aunt Mahera Fayez, woman Union Parisad (UP) member Momtaz Parvin addressed the meeting.

When contacted with police, they told this correspondent that they arrested three persons and they were placed on remand.
