DG among 11 sued
The case was lodged by Kabir Hossain. The court after hearing summoned them to appear before the court by January 13 after the autumn vacation of the court.
The 11 accused include Deputy Director Hosneara Begum, Inspector of Schools Sekander Ali Khan, Assistant Inspector of Schools Abu Nasser Talukder, Director General of Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Prof Md. Junayed, Headmaster-in-Charge of Barisal Zilla School Abdur Rob, magistrate Masuma Khatun, Md. Reazul Karim, Md. Mainuddin, Mariam Begum and Delwara Begum.
In the case, the complainant alleged that the accused persons appointed people to the 36 posts through corruption and irregularities.
A total of 2650 applicants had applied for the posts.
The selected 36 persons included a daughter of an Assistant Inspector of Schools, brother of an Inspector of Schools, relative of a Deputy Director and brother of a staff of the education department, sources alleged.
When contacted, Deputy Director Hosneara Begum declined to make any comment about the allegations.
