Hands, legs of RU Chhatra Union leader fractured by Shibir
Activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student front of Jamaat-e-Islami, attacked and injured Rajshahi University Chhatra Union President S M Chandan on the Saturday evening.
Chandan was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with hands and legs fractured.
Miscreant swooped on him near the Folklore Square as he was returning home from the campus along with Chhatra Front leader Tushar.
They beat him with a hammer and iron rods and smashed joints of his hands and legs.
RU student leaders said Chandan was attacked for his role in the university in "progressive politics".
