PCJSS man held, arms recovered

The arrested person is Nihar Bindu Chakma, 40.

Following his confessional statement, the joint forces recovered a foreign made revolver, a rifle and 25 live bullets from elsewhere.

Nihar Bindu, a former member of now-defunct Shantibahini, had long been involved in firearms trafficking. He had also been leading a group of armed cadres acting against the anti-peace elements in the United Peoples' Democratic Front (UPDF).

He had also been engaged in illegal extortion and attacking the troops.
