Bikalpa Dhara leaders meet Chormonai Pir
Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) leader Major (Rtd) Abdul Mannan and party secretary general Mahi B Chowdhury MP attended a mehfil and held a close-door meeting with Charmonai Pir Syed Fazlur Rahman in Barisal on Friday.
Syed Fazlur Rahman is also Amir of Islami Shashontantra Andolon (ISHA), a political party launched by him.
The BDB leaders flew to Chormonai in a helicopter. The party has been created by former president Dr. Badruddoza Chowdhury after he left BNP.
Sources said this was the first visit by BDB leaders to Chormonai.
They also took part in the Juma payer there.
Reply to questions by local journalists, Mahi B Chowdhury said they were invited to attend the Mahfil. "It is a duty for every Muslim to attend a religious function, if invited", he said.
ÃMahi parried a question whether there would be an alliance among BDB, ISHA, Gano Forum and Jatio Party (of Ershad and Anwar Hossain).
