60 out of 65 AL men quit party in a Jessore union
Sixty out of 65 leaders and activists of Ramnagar union Awami League resigned from the party on Saturday in protest against non-inclusion of local Union Parishad chairman and prominent party leader Advocate Afzal Hossain in its newly formed district committee.
In a written joint resignation letter addressed to the secretary of Jessore Sadar upazila Awami League, they said they have resigned from the party protesting formation of a "biased committee".
Those who signed include the union committee's vice- presidents Sri Gobinda Sarker, Md Nesar Ali, Md Nesar Ali and Md Mosharaf Hossain, joint secretary Md Abdur Rashid and organising secretary Atiar Rahman.
