Hili, 2 other land ports to be handed over to a private co

The Hili and Biral land ports in Dinajpur along with Shona Masjid land port in Chapainawabgonj is being hand over to a private company for 25 years, according to sources in Bangladesh Land Port Authority.

Panama Traders of Dhaka has signed contracts with the Land Port Authority to develop the three land ports.

The company will start work next month to build necessary facilities in the two land ports. The work will be completed by April next year, the sources said.

In this connection, Chairman of Bangladesh Land Port Authority Amzad Hossain Sarker visited Hili and Biral land ports in Dinajpur on Thursday.

He also visited the 25 acres of land to be acquired for building the Biral land port.

He as accompanied by Director of Land Port (Accounts) Imtiaj Ahmed Chowdhury.

Moniruzzam, owner of Panama Traders, told this correspondent that they would start construction soon to develop the land ports.
