35 BNP men quit party in B’baria

They tendered their resignation protesting formation of a pocket committee of the party by their MP, advocate Haroon Al Rashid.

Ashuganj BNP senior vice president Abu Asif Ahmed read out a written speech at a press conference held at Ashuganj intersection.

Upazila JCD president Akmal Hossain and senior vice president Tafrul Islam Tushar addressed the conference.

About 1,000 people were present in the press conference.

The previous upazila committee was formed in 1991. This year BNP MP Haroon announced his committee comprising four members.

They are Haji Jahirul Islam, president, Md Jakir Hossain, secretary, Abu Asif Ahmed, senior vice president and Tauhidul Islam, organising secretary.
