RU BCL protests BSS news on Joy
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) held a rally on Rajshahi University campus and brought out a procession yesterday protesting the "false, fabricated and motivated" report releases by BSS about Joy, son of leader of the Opposition Sheikh Hasina.
The BSS report published in national dailies recently said Joy had a meeting with Indian Defence Minister Pronob Mukharjee in New Delhi.
BCL leaders criticised the government for the report, saying it was done to mislead the people.
They also demanded immediate withdrawal of 'false' cases filed against seven BCL leaders and activists, including Dhaka
University (DU) BCL President Delwar Hossain. They vowed to resist the Islami Chhatra Shibir, student body of Jamaat-e-Islami, on the campus because they are "vitiating the academic atmosphere". They are misleading student in the name of religion, they said.
They called upon student bodies to resist Shibir on the campus.
