Sangbad Editor, two others sued in Satkhira

Court sources said, Satkhira district BNP leader and Alipur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Abdur Rouf filed a case with the Court of Magistrate Saidur Rahman on Wednesday for publishing a report against him and others in the paper in its July 17 issue.

The accused persons are Sangbad Acting Editor Bazlur Rahman, its Publisher Al-Tamash Kabir and Staff Reporter Nazmul Haq Bellal.

After hearing, magistrate Saidur Rahman asked Satkhira Police Station for an inquiry into the allegation and for further action.

Local journalists condemned the incident and demanded withdrawal of the case.
