Zia Fertiliser still out of operation

The factory stopped operation due to technical fault since Wednesday morning.

The fault was detected at the cooling tower of the factory. A leakage was also developed in its synthesis gas pipeline resulting in stoppage of operation.

Source said, a team of engineers arrived from Dhaka. They are engaged in repairing the fault. 'Three or more days might be required for repair,' according to a factory source.

Now, the factory is incurring a loss of 1,600 metric ton of urea per day.
