10 get life for killing trader in Meherpur

The convicts are Yarnabi, Ahmed, Alihim, Siddik, Malek, Sadi, Dukhu, Sahid, Amirul and Johurul. Of them Yarnabi, Ahmed, Siddik, Alihim Dukhu and Sahid were tried in absentia.

The convicts were filed Tk 10,000 each, in default to suffer RI for one year more. All are from Razganj village in Meherpur Sadar upazila.

Three of the accused were acquitted in the verdict delivered by District Judge Abdul Hamid. The case was on the list of sensational cases.

The ten stormed into the house of Enamul at Shaympur village in the Sadar upazila on the night of January 13, 1999 and shot him. Enamul died while being taken to Meherpur general hospital.
