Road barricade in Khagrachhari again from tomorrow
Indigenous people under the banner of Nagorik Committee yesterday called for an indefinite barricade on Khagrachhari-Mohalchhari-Rangamati road from tomorrow.
The committee has been demanding withdrawal of Bangalee settlers from their land at Gamaridala in Khagrachhari.
Earlier, a similar programme was observed for seven days from February 12 to 18. It was called off following assurance from the administration to withdraw the Bengali settlers. But Nagorik Committee decided to return to their road barricade following non-implementation of the demand after 13 days of talks with the authorities.
Committee leader Santoshita Chakma has urged the indigenous people to make the programme a success.
