Hospital to be set up after Veena Sikri

A hospital for women will be set up in Kishoreganj, Indian High Commissioner Veena Sikri. announced this yesterday. But she did not say who will fund it.

She was inaugurating a three-day Escorts tractor fair in Nitol Sugar Mill in Pakundia.

The hospital will be named after Veena Sikri, Nitol sources said.

In her address, Veena Sikri expressed her gratitude to Bangladesh people for paying tributes to General Jagjit Singh Aurora, chief of the Allied Force during the Liberation War, at a function in Dhaka recently.

In a joint venture with Escorts Tractors Ltd India, Nitol Group will produce 30 per cent parts of the tractors, said its chairman Matlub Ahmed.
