Magistrate sued by wife for demanding dowry

Magistrate Sadiqul Islam was sued by wife Ireen Begum for torturing her for dowry amounting to Tk 5 lakh, court sources said. She filed the case with the first class magistrate court in Nilphamari on Tuesday.

Court sources said, Sadiqul Islam, son of late Abdul Aziz of Bhullarhat village in Kaliganj upazila, Lalmonirhat married to Ireen Begum, daughter of Azizar Rahman of West Kathali village in Jaldhaka upazila, Nilphamari on December 12, 2004.
