In their attempt to bring limelight to one of the underdog sports in Dhaka -- basketball, Vertical Horizon is back with their annual tournament. In association with Bangladesh Basketball Federation, the VH Underground Basketball Championship is looking forward to its fifth year in a row this time around. They say that basketball is a sport where you're provided with the opportunity to 'show off', and it really is undeniable. The tournament is sure to be filled with mad dribbling skills, alley oops and a dunk or two as well if you're lucky.

This year's tournament includes teams such as Gregorian, Aces, Gulshan Youth Club, Renegades, Mavericks, Blitzkrieg, Kainan, the host team Vertical Horizon and of course, the three time reigning champions Josephites. Vertical Horizon is an alternative educational institute aimed at providing a tutoring experience for both private and school students sitting for O and A levels in Dhaka. The institute has expanded and intends to showcase these basketball players' talents. In total there will be fifteen matches -- twelve group matches, two semifinals and wrapping up with the final on September 5.

The institute and all of the involved educators hope that this year's tournament will help their mission to promote basketball among the youth and encourage Bangladesh's basketball community. The underground tournament began on August 31 at the Abahani Indoor Basketball Court. So, show up with your loudest voice, armed with a bright poster to cheer your favorite team on! SHOUT is a media partner of the tournament.
