Culinary sensation Kishwar Chowdhury is the first Bangladeshi-Australian to secure the third place in the internationally renowned cooking show, MasterChef Australia. She fought for the title of MasterChef Australia against Justin Narayan and Pete Campbell. She took home $20,000 in prize money to get her food dream off the ground. The talented cook is currently training under Michelin star chef Masahiko Yomoda, who was present in the MasterChef kitchen during the bento box challenge this year.

The 24th edition of the National Art Exhibition 2021, a flagship art venture by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), will begin today (June 29).

Today marks the 45th death anniversary of renowned painter Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin. “Dui”, a successor to the exhibition, “Ek”, is the second chapter of the series of exhibitions curated by Taiara Farhana Tareque. Taking place simultaneously over two places in the city— Studio 6/6 and Dwip Gallery, “Dui” portrays two alternative visions of a singular artist, but draws up a merged conversation by bringing in the concept of a particular space and tying it together within the artwork. “The point of synchronicity is actually at in minds of the audience,” Taiara explains.

On March 12, “Elephant in the Room”, an award-winning art installation by renowned Bangladeshi visual artist Kamruzzaman Shadhin, was launched at the Dubai Design District (D3), organised by Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation, which works to promote South Asian art internationally in association with Art Dubai. D3 is a hub of inspiration for creatives, artists, and designers. It will exhibit this participatory artwork in its walkaways for a month-long display till April 12, 2021.

Gallery Shilpangan in Lalmatia is currently hosting artist Al Akhir Sarker’s first solo painting exhibition, titled “Mon Pabaner Nao - The Fairy Boat”. Whether it is life or stillness, fragments of memoirs, light and affection of time and moments, Al Akhir renders the elements that surround his environment in a simplistic form. On the occasion of their 29th founding anniversary, Gallery Shilpangan is hosting this exhibition.

A three-month group art exhibition, “Brihatta Home Art Project 2020”, kicked off at Bengal Shilpalay yesterday. It is jointly organised by Brihatta Art Foundation and Bengal Arts Programme. Tanzim Wahab, Chief Curator, Bengal Arts Programme, is the curator of the exhibition.
