After MasterChef, Kishwar working with Michelin star chef Yomoda
Culinary sensation Kishwar Chowdhury is the first Bangladeshi-Australian to secure the third place in the internationally renowned cooking show, MasterChef Australia. She fought for the title of MasterChef Australia against Justin Narayan and Pete Campbell. She took home $20,000 in prize money to get her food dream off the ground. The talented cook is currently training under Michelin star chef Masahiko Yomoda, who was present in the MasterChef kitchen during the bento box challenge this year.

Prachyanat to receive government grant
Under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, grants were allocated to 270 organisations from the fine arts and theatre sectors across the country, for 2020-2021. However, a number of prominent theatre troupes and cultural organisations, including Prachyanat, were not on the list for receiving grants. Finally, after some revisions, Prachyanat’s name has been added to the list.

Reminiscing Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin’s legacy
Today marks the 45th death anniversary of renowned painter Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin. As the founding father of art education and culture in the country, he strived to create opportunities for local artists. He also played a key role in establishing the Government Institute of Arts and Crafts (now Faculty of Fine Arts) in 1948 at Dhaka University (DU), and was the founding principal of the institute.

Group exhibition ‘Dui’ explores synchronised encounters
“Dui”, a successor to the exhibition, “Ek”, is the second chapter of the series of exhibitions curated by Taiara Farhana Tareque. Taking place simultaneously over two places in the city— Studio 6/6 and Dwip Gallery, “Dui” portrays two alternative visions of a singular artist, but draws up a merged conversation by bringing in the concept of a particular space and tying it together within the artwork. “The point of synchronicity is actually at in minds of the audience,” Taiara explains.

Kamruzzaman Shadhin’s ‘Elephant in the Room’ featured at Dubai Design District
On March 12, “Elephant in the Room”, an award-winning art installation by renowned Bangladeshi visual artist Kamruzzaman Shadhin, was launched at the Dubai Design District (D3), organised by Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation, which works to promote South Asian art internationally in association with Art Dubai. D3 is a hub of inspiration for creatives, artists, and designers. It will exhibit this participatory artwork in its walkaways for a month-long display till April 12, 2021.
