Covid-19 has swept across the planet like a tsunami. It is up to us how many waves of infection will follow.

On June 26, the world comme-morated the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture—an opportunity to uphold the dignity of life, access to justice, and freedom from torture, which is a right of all people, to be enjoyed without discrimination, regardless of their civil, cultural, economic, political or social position or status.

AT the 2016 United Nations General Assembly Special Session on the World Drug Problem, it was not just governments that came together to decide on new drug policies that are humane and leave no one behind—people in general, including women and youth, congregated too.

In 2014, the United Nations Secretary General said: “There is no Plan B because we do not have a Planet B.” Since its inception in 1974, World Environment Day has grown to become a global platform for public outreach and it is now celebrated in more than 100 countries. The call to action for the World Environment Day 2018 is “Beat Plastic Pollution”. Plastic pollution is a pressing environmental concern that requires our collective action.
