Magistrate attacked in Sylhet

An executive magistrate was attacked reportedly by the activists of BNP in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet today.

Executive Magistrate Sumanto Banarjee came under the attack in Hetimganj bazaar area under Sylhet-6 constituency around 6:30pm, reports our Sylhet correspondent.

The magistrate, also the AC Land of the upazila, has been taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Supporters of BNP candidate for Sylhet-6 reportedly attacked the magistrate as he requested them to move away from a road where the party men were holding a roadside meeting, Mamunur Rahman, assistant returning officer and the upazila nirbahi officer.
