Boko Haram misinterprets Islam
Every person has the right to receive education which helps to explore his/her inner potentiality. But things are different when it comes to Nigeria. Recently 240 schoolgirls were abducted from a school in the country by the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram. This news shocked the people of Nigeria and the world at large. The Nigerian government failed to rescue them even after one and half month into the abduction.
The parents of these girls have been passing sleepless nights in great anxiety. The only mistake these girls made was they were receiving education in schools.
This is not an isolated event in Nigeria. Fundamentalist groups like Boko Haram are killing a large number of people in the name of religion in different parts of the world. Islam is a religion of peace and is never against girls' education. However, a group of people, such as those in Boko Haram, misinterpret the principles of Islam for their personal gains. Such religious groups can never be friends of Islam, rather they are the enemies of Islam.
