AIUB-CISCO certificate awarding ceremony
A group of 30 police officers from the Police Telecom Department received their Network and Security Essentials course completion certificate on May 29 at Cisco Lab under AIUB-Cisco Regional Academy. The group was headed by the Superintendent of Police, Shofiqul Islam. The certificates were given away by Md. Manirul Islam, Director of Continuing Education Centre at AIUB.
This training programme is part of the effort by the police department to modernise the force through developing their human resource capability, especially in the area of information and communications technology. During the 4-month long specialised hands-on training, the officers were taught how to independently design, develop, and manage their own computer networks and protect sensitive information from intruders. The programme will boost the force's ability to maintain law and order with added technological edge.
This training programme for government officials is part of AIUB's community outreach programme to share their technical knowledge with other sections of society.
BRAC University Club Fair 2014
BRAC University Business Club (BIZ BEE) hosted club fair, titled “Summer Sault Rejoice 2014” on June 1 at BRACU indoor auditorium. The event was a great success, delivering on its promise to be bigger and bolder than previous club fairs hosted by BIZ BEE in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
The programme was inaugurated by chief guest Professor Dr. Riaz P. Khan, Dean of Student Affairs. BRACU Cultural Club and Drama & Theatre Forum arranged a cultural programme in the afternoon, followed by a rocking performance by Artcell.

Aly Zaker speaks at IUB
Renowned actor, freedom fighter and Chairman of Asiatic 3 Sixty, Aly Zaker delivered a lecture on “Advertising in Bangladesh: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” on May 29 at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) campus. School of Business of the university organised the lecture under “Meet the Business Leader” programme.
Professor M. Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of IUB, delivered the welcome speech, while Dr Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business introduced the speaker. In his lecture, Aly Zaker shared the story of creating business out of perceived non-business. He also mentioned the crux of marketing communication.
An inspiring question-answer session followed the presentation, which was attended by the faculty members and the students of IUB.
