CPDS and Airtel organise workshops at NSU
Career & Professional Development Services (CPDS), NSU in association with Airtel Bangladesh Ltd. organised a day long workshop at NSU on January 31, 2015.
The day long workshop had sessions on CV writing techniques, interview tips and tricks, interview simulation, CV feedback and interview feedback. NSU alumni, HR professionals from GrameenPhone, Nestlé, KRISENERGY, BRAC, EPL, Banglalink, Robi Axiata Limited, MGH, Marico, PRAN and Accenture conducted these sessions. Students from all departments participated in this workshop.
Benajir Ahmed, Chairman, BOT, attended as the chief guest and Prof. Amin Sarkar, Vice Chancellor chaired the opening ceremony. Noor Mohammad, CHO, Airtel Bangladesh attended as special guest. Among others, Prof. Emdadul Haq, Executive Director, Students Affairs and Faisal Wali, Director, CPDS delivered speeches.
Blood Donation Programme by Ahmed Smrity Sangsad
A voluntary organisation, 'Ahmed Smrity Sangsad,’ arranged a blood donation event with the help of Sandhani Dhaka Medical College Unit and honoured personalities for their humanitarian services on January 24 at the WVA Auditorium in Dhaka. Kamrul Hasan, VC (acting), Bangladesh University was the chief guest at the event. Professor Mustafa Kamaluddin, Dean of Arts, Social Science & Law faculties and Head of English Department, BU and Ahmad Imtiaj Bulbul, a renowned musician and freedom fighter were special guests. Professor Atika Botul Khanam chaired the event.
A great number of students, teachers, officials and staff from Bangladesh University, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology took part and donated blood. The organisation, on this occasion, honoured the father of Bir Sreshtho Matiur Rahman, Md. Joynal Abedin, and the donors for highest number of blood donation with crests.
OIS celebrates Winter Festival 2015
Oxford International School (Uttara Campus) took an initiative to celebrate Winter Festival 2015 in their campus on January 29-30, 2015. The festival was organised with the event firm Backbenchers. This festival was arranged to familiarise students with the outside world. There was a fair participated by Al Hasan Diamond Gallery, North South University, Saaj, Be Stylish, Pizza Roma, Sugar Puffs, Rume's Kitchen and Boi Bichitra along with an art exhibition. The festival was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mohammed Badiuzzaman, Chairman, Anti-Corruption Commission along with special guest Dr. G.U. Ahsan, Dean, Health & Life Sciences Department, NSU. Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony along with Md. Abdullah Aref, PPM, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Khulna Metropolitan Police, as the special guest. Md. Shakawat Hossain, President, Oxford International School and Engr. Farzana Abedin, Vice Principal of Oxford International School accompanied the guests.
Orientation programme of spring 2015 at UIU

United International University (UIU) held the orientation programme on January 28-29, 2015 for the newly admitted students of spring 2015 trimester at the UIU Auditorium.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, presided over the ceremonies while Advisor Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman, Dean, School of Business & Economics, Prof. Dr. Md. Musa, Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Prof. Dr. SM Lutful Kabir, Head (Acting) Dept. of Economics, Prof. Dr. Amirul Islam Chowdhury, MBA Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. M. Sadiqul Islam, BBA Program Director, Prof. Dr. Abu Saleh, Md. Sohel-Uz-Zaman, EEE Head, Prof. Dr. Md. Raqibul Mostafa, CSE Head, Dr. Salekul Islam, Registrar Prof. A.S.M. Salahuddin, Director of Students Affairs, Suman Ahmed spoke on the programmes. Treasurer, heads of different departments, teachers, guardians, students and the invited guests were present in the programmes.
Civil Engineering festival at UAP
A daylong festival was held at the Civil Engineering (CE) department of University of Asia Pacific (UAP) on January 31, 2015.
UAP Vice Chancellor Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury inaugurated the festival as chief guest while Pro-VC Professor M. R. Kabir addressed the programme as special guest. “In order to be a successful engineer, you have to develop skills in co-curriculum activities along with regular studies,” Prof. Jamilur Reza Choudhury said while addressing the function. In the festival, five different clubs including Environmental Club, Cultural Club, Art and Photography Club, Math Club and Film Club of CE department took part with their own projects.
