BRAC Bank's profit surges 57% in Jan-June 2026

BRAC Bank's net profit rose 57 percent year-on-year to Tk 1,423 crore on a consolidated basis in the first half of 2026.

The private commercial lender’s customer deposits rose 25 percent and loan disbursement grew 18 percent, both ahead of industry averages.

BRAC Bank's Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan said the results reflected "the strength of our business model, prudent governance and disciplined execution".

Its cost-to-income ratio fell to 42 percent from 48 percent over the same period, reflecting improved efficiency and digital transformation.

BRAC Bank’s consolidated earnings per share rose to Tk 5.07 from Tk 3.09 in the previous year, while total consolidated revenue increased 29 percent, which the bank attributed to higher non-funded and interest income.

The bank’s non-performing loan ratio improved to 2.03 percent from 2.27 percent in December 2025.

BRAC Bank presented the results during a virtual earnings call on August 13, attended by local and international investors, analysts and portfolio managers.

As of June 30, the bank's deposits exceeded Tk 97,000 crore, and loans and advances reached Tk 76,000 crore.
