Competition commission’s panel to find out edible oil price manipulation

Bangladesh Competition Commission has formed a three-member committee to find out edible oil price manipulation practices in the local market.

Recently, the commission found that some companies are involved in anti-competitive activities of the edible oil in the domestic market to make a hefty profit, the commission said in a statement today.

The competition authority also sought information from the people about the anomalies in prices of edible oil in the local markets.

It also said the identity of people will not be disclosed who will inform the commission about any price manipulation, according to the statement.
