Experts call for regularly organising investment summit
International investment summits should be regularly organised once in every six months to attract more investment for Bangladesh, said Salman F Rahman, prime minister's private industry and investment adviser.
He spoke at a workshop on "International Investment Summit 2021" organised by Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Monday evening.
Addressing the workshop, Tipu Munshi, commerce minister, said the International Investment Summit 2021 has successfully showcased strengths of Bangladesh and opportunities for investment in the country as it has brought an investment commitment of around $3 billion.
He said the economy of Bangladesh needs more sustainable inflow of foreign direct investment.
Ahmed Kaikaus, principal secretary to the Prime Minister's Office; Nuzhat Anwar, acting country manager of the International Finance Corporation, and Md Ariful Islam, director for international investment wing at BIDA, also spoke.
