Muhammad Ibrahim has been appointed as the new CEO of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Authority.

Prior to the appointment, he was serving the Bangladesh government as a secretary, the PPP authority said in a press release.

Ibrahim has been a member of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) since April 1993. He was previously employed as an additional secretary in the local government division.

In addition to serving in various ministries and field administration, he was the first secretary at the Bangladesh embassy in Manama, Bahrain.

He has 29 years of experience working with public policies, particularly those pertaining to local government, overseas employment, health, water and sanitation.

"As a post, this is an interesting as well as a hugely challenging responsibility as the government is on its way to meet the Sustainable Development Goal targets by 2030," Ibrahim said after joining the office today.

"I will try to do my best to assist the government by managing foreign investment and coordinating with the line ministries."

Ibrahim earned his Master's degree in health economics from the Institute of Health Economics of Dhaka University and the Centre for Health Economics, University of York in the UK.

Ibrahim replaced Sultana Afroz, who has retired from the post recently.
