South Korean firm to invest $4.15 million in Mongla EPZ

PH Creative (BD) Ltd, a South Korean company, signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) today to establish a factory inside Mongla Export Processing Zone to manufacture camping items and garments accessories.

The foreign entity will invest $4.15 million to annually produce 5 million pieces of camping items.

The items include steel, aluminum and iron frame, tent, trolley bag, hand bag, sleeping bag, camping chair along with shirt, jacket and garment accessories like PVC weir cover, PVC cap, chair patch, hanger, J-hook, cord lock, SR buckle, DB buckle, hammer, peg and carry bag board.

The factory will create around 990 employment opportunities, Bepza said in a statement.

Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan, member for investment promotion at Bepza, signed the deal with Jin Ho Bae, chairman of PH Creative (BD), at a programme at Bepza Complex in Dhaka.

Major General Md Nazrul Islam, Bepza's executive chairman, was also present.
