Stocks see massive fall for fears of lockdown

Stocks experienced a massive fall in the first hour of trading today just a day after the government's fresh announcement of a lockdown.

DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), plunged 113 points, or 2.15 per cent, to stand at 5,157.09.

The seven-day lockdown will be applicable countrywide from Monday.

In the first hour, only seven stocks advanced, while 224 dropped and 44 remained unchanged at the DSE.
