The Research & Innovation (R&I) week started with an exclusive seminar held at the UIU Campus in United City, Madani Avenue.

Department of Career & Professional Development Services (CPDS) of Southeast University (SEU) in collaboration with UNDP’s Futurenation organised a soft skills development programme’s inauguration session titled “Employability Master Class & Scholarship Awarding Ceremony”. The programme was held on December 11 at the SEU Multipurpose Hall.

The prestigious “A. Matin Chowdhury” award ceremony held at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) on Dec 9 brought together leaders from the textile industry, academia, and students to celebrate the event and to discuss the future of textiles. 

Milestone College held its annual sports competition prize distribution ceremony for class 12 – both Bangla medium and English version – girls. The ceremony was held on December 11.

Participating in the World Mathematics Team Championship 2024, Team Bangladesh has achieved six gold medals, 11 silver medals, and seven bronze medals alongside three merit awards.

The British Council, in collaboration with the University of Leeds, recently published an insightful report on the impact of youth development programmes, titled “Non-Formal Education for Youth-Led Change: Youth Development Programming in Bangladesh”. This research was published at the British Council Auditorium on December 11.

Out of 1,800 universities from around the world, DU and DIU have been ranked 634th and 690th respectively.

The gathering drew over 500 academics, researchers, educators, and students from Bangladesh and around the world.

SUB in collaboration with Excellence Bangladesh, successfully hosted the “SUB National Career Fair 2024” on December 7, 2024.

The Department of English and Modern Languages (DEML) at North South University (NSU), in collaboration with the Bangladesh English Language Teachers Association (BELTA), is set to host an international conference titled “Re/Envisioning Paradigms in English Language Education” on December 6 and 7, 2024.

Southeast University (SEU) successfully hosted the “3rd IEEE Conference on Biomedical Engineering, Computer and Information Technology for Health 2024 (BECITHCON 2024)” at SEU from November 28 to 29. On November 28, the Department of Law, North South University (NSU) organised the NSU “Undergraduate Law Symposium Summer 2024”.

Uttara University hosted the HR Summit 2024, bringing together Chief Human Resource Officers from the top 20 companies in the country on November 30. Senior HR professionals from various industries, including banking, insurance, garments, pharmaceuticals, and corporate offices, joined the event alongside students, faculty members, and experts from the university.

“Road to Wellness 2024” organised by Sir John Wilson School (SJWS) took place on November 30, 2024, at the school’s main campus in United City.

A three-day international conference titled “Language Metamorphosis: Implications for Language Education in Decolonial Contexts” (LMLEDC) organised by the BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL) began at BRAC University on November 28.

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has achieved the joint-top spot among private universities in Bangladesh in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025. IUB is placed in the 401-500 bracket globally and ranked fifth among all public and private universities in the country.
