The STS Group has partnered with the Cambridge University Press and Assessment under the University of Cambridge to delightedly announce the launch of “Cambridge Early Years Programme” (Cambridge EY) in Bangladesh through Delhi Public School (DPS) STS School Dhaka.

The Media, Communication and Journalism (MCJ) program at North South University (NSU) orchestrated a thought-provoking discussion today, delving into the theme “Bangabandhu in Photography: Pavel Rahman”. Leading global climate expert Prof. Dr Saleemul Huq OBE, Director of International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) and Professor at the Department of Environmental Science and Management at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), has been appointed as one of the external members of a new Scientific Advisory Board of the United Nations (UN). The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced the creation of the board on August 3.

The ‘TELOS’, a Mars rover prototype developed by the Mars Rover Team from United International University (UIU), secured 3rd place in the Anatolian Rover Challenge 2023 organised by the Space Exploration Society (UKET). The competition was held from July 19 – 23 at the Middle East Technical University campus in Ankara, Turkiye.  

The Career Resources Cell at State University of Bangladesh (SUB) organised a career boot camp on “Soft Skills for 21st Century & Industry 4.0”. The event was held on August 5.

The first graduation ceremony for the diploma engineers of Daffodil Polytechnic Institute, commemorating the first ever diploma graduates’ graduation ceremony in Bangladesh was held on July 26 at Daffodil Plaza at Sobhanbagh, Dhanmondi. Mustafa Jabbar, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Bangladesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, MP and former Captain of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team delivered the graduation ceremony speech. 

Ishtiaque Abedin, the Founding Member, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), was honoured with the “Commonwealth Business Excellence Award 2023” at the Commonwealth Partnership Summit & Business Excellence Awards 2023 held on July 27 in Singapore, for his outstanding contribution to business and social service.

Moklesur Rahman Sarker, Head of Academic & Research Affairs of the Department, has developed a novel immunobooster “Super-Boost” targeting to use for the prevention of any kind of infections including COVID-19 and cancers.

Climate Strategies and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), in a research published on July 24, concluded that Bangladesh’s climate policies must integrate Just Transitions to build resilience to increasingly severe climate hazards, boost green employment and decrease inequality.
