Catches, captaincy and confidence

This is written after the Tigers nearly defended 204 against Sri Lanka. Tigers, you have demonstrated that you can bat with the best putting 326-3 on the board against Pakistan. I like the new confidence of batting first when you win the toss. Why did you lose? First, catches win matches and missed catches were the deciding factor in each Asia Cup loss. Second, luck cannot be blamed when we see the same repeating pattern of taking out the openers, pressure being relaxed and middle order batsmen getting set. Trust your pacers more and use your part time spinners less. Use slips more. Prevent singles. Offer the boundary, but make them hit it in the air. Attack the new batsmen. Third, Afghanistan was 100% mental, and you chose to field. There was such a great fear of losing that it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. You white-washed New Zealand not so long ago. Please do not tell the media and create a mockery and distraction, but quietly tell yourselves you are going to win the T20 world cup and discard all negative thoughts.
