2 remanded for assaulting judge
A court in Chattogram put two youths including the son of a ruling party leader of port city's Maddham Halishahar area, on three-day remand in a case filed with Patenga police station over physically assaulting a judge yesterday.
Earlier, Ali Akbar Iqbal, son of controversial AL leader of port city's Badar area Hazi Iqbal, and Akbar's friend Hasan Ali were arrested for assaulting Chattogram 5th Joint District and Session Judge Jahir Hossain at Patenga's Outer Ring Road, after he spoke against them riding motorbike on the wrong side of the road on Wednesday evening.
Assistant Commissioner Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed of CMP said Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohiuddin Murad passed the order after they were produced before the court with four-day remand prayer by police.
