26 fall sick drinking tea

Twenty six people fell sick after drinking tea mistakenly made with insecticide instead of sugar at Sonahar Balapara village in Debigaj upazila of Panchagarh on Thursday night.

Twelve people from Chaora Dalua village of Nilphamari came to the village to discuss a wedding between Surandranath Roy's son and Sashodhar Roy's daughter and fell sick after drinking tea at Sashodhar's house, said locals.

They received treatment at Debiganj Upazila Health Complex.

The container of insecticide was kept at the same room where the food items were stored, said Rohimul Islam, local UP chairman.
