3 missing as boat capsized in Buriganga

Three passengers went missing as a boat capsized following a head-on collision between a boat and a launch near Sardarghat terminal in Buriganga river tonight.

The identity of the missing people could not be ascertained immediately, Fire Service and Civil Defence told The Daily Star.

A team of firefighters is conducting a search in the rive to rescue the missing people, said Rasel Shikdar, duty officer of Fire Service Control Room in Dhaka.

The fire official said the boat was capsized as a Patuakhali-bound launch knocked the boat while it was heading to anchor at the terminal.
