4 extortionists arrested in Ctg

Police arrested four alleged extortionists in Chittagong city's Halishahar area early yesterday.

The arrestees are Abdul Mannan Zitu, 27, and Jalis Mamun, 30, of Eid Gaon area; Kamal Pasha, 45, of Shahnagar village in Hathazari, and a woman.

Halishahar police said by talking over cellphones, the gang used to trap youths into taking intimate photographs with the woman. Later, the gang used to demand money from them by threatening that they would spread the snaps through internet otherwise, they added. A snatched iPhone was also seized from them, said police.
