8 BNP-Jamaat men held in Ctg

Police in overnight drives arrested eight BNP and Jamaat men in two upazilas of Chittagong yesterday for carrying out subversive activities, while 25 leaders and activists of BNP and its front organisations were sued in Rangpur on Saturday night.   
In Sitakunda of Chittagong, four BNP and two Jamaat men were arrested in Hatilota, Madyam Sonaichhari and Yakubnagar areas, according to our Chittagong correspondent.
Two more Jamaat men were arrested in Kalaujan and Darbeshhat areas of Lohagara, said police.
Meanwhile, police sued 10 named and 15 unnamed in Rangpur in connection with making explosives, reports our Rangpur correspondent.
Md Hossain Ali, a sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said they are conducting drives to arrest the accused.
