Abducted boy rescued in Jessore

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) yesterday rescued an eight-year-old boy from Mathurapur village of Jessore, two days after he was abducted from Sharanpur village in Jhikorgacha upazila.

Two abductors -- Sagar Sheikh, 34, and Mizanur Rahman Mintu, 35, of Mathurapur village -- were also arrested.

Miscreants abducted Foysal Ahmed, son of Mantu Mia at gunpoint on Tuesday. Later, they demanded Tk 5 lakh as ransom from Mantu over the phone.

Following a complaint filed by Mantu, a team of Rab-6 conducted a drive in Rupdia area and arrested Sagar on Thursday night.
