Bahauddin vows to end loadshedding in North Dhaka
Pro-Jatiya Party mayoral candidate of Dhaka North City Corporation Bahauddin Ahmed yesterday made an 18-point pledge in his election manifesto including making the city free from traffic jam and ensuring uninterrupted utility services like gas, water, and electricity.
While declaring the manifesto in Gulshan's Emmanuelle's Convention Centre, he demanded deployment of army for the April 28 election day for, what he said, security and credible polls.
He said if he was elected, he would make Dhaka city free from traffic congestion.
No new taxes will be imposed and the city corporation will generate new income sources, said Bahauddin.
He said he would take proper initiative to resolve waterlogging problem. He also promised to free the Turag river from illegal grabbers.
If Bahauddin is elected, he would try to free the city from crimes, and make public transports developed and comfortable, he said.
Meanwhile, JP-backed mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation Saifuddin Ahmed will announce his election manifesto in a convention centre at Bijoy Nagar today, party sources said.
