Belayet Hossain no more

Belayet Hossain, a resident of Dinnath Sen area in the capital's Gendaria, died at a Dhaka hospital on Monday. He was 78, says a press release.

He left behind his wife, three daughters -- Lima Rezwan, Sultana Akter Babu and Salma Akter Soma -- and son chess Grand Master Enamul Hossain Razib.

Razib, a chess star, took his first chess lesson from his father.

Belayet's qulkhwani will be held after Asr prayers on Friday at 123, West Shewrapara, Mirpur.
