BNP leader shot dead in Khulna

A local BNP leader was shot dead by some miscreants in Arongghata area of Khulna on Friday night.
The miscreants intercepted SM Alamgir Hossain, 50, industries affairs secretary of BNP ward-3 unit, and opened fire, said Sheikh Maniruzzaman Mithu, additional deputy commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
The assailants fled away and the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, said police.
