Body of missing CU student found in Halda River

The body of Noman Chowdhury, 25, a second year student of international relations department at Chittagong University, who went missing in the Halda River while bathing on Friday , was found adrift in the river yesterday afternoon.

Noman was son of Omar Chowdhury of Sarakghata in Rangunia upazila of Chittagong. Locals found the body floating in the river near South Nangalmora of Hathazari upazila. Being informed, members of police and fire brigade retrieved the body. On Friday, Noman along with five of his friends went to Hathazari to attend a marriage ceremony, said his friends, adding that he drowned while they were taking bath in the river in the morning.
