Bogra man killed in attack over pond

A man was allegedly killed by his rivals following a feud over the ownership of a pond in Dhundar village under Nandigram upazila in Bogra on Thursday evening.

The dead is Saber Ali, 50.

Police said Saber with his group members tried to prevent his rival group led by Mojibur Rahman from fishing in his pond.

Later, an altercation ensued over the ownership of the pond and Mojibur and his group members started beating Saber and his group members with sharp weapons injuring six people including Saber.

Locals rushed them to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where Saber succumbed to his injury.

Officer-in-Charge of Nandigram Police Station Hasan Shamim Ikbal said a case was filed against 22 people. Two of them were arrested.
