British Council holds discussion on need for girls' digital skills

The British Council organised a discussion titled "Digital Skills-Can They Change Girls' Lives?" in Lakeshore Hotel in the capital recently.

The discussion considered disparity between men and women in terms of access to the internet and smartphone use in developing countries.

Chowdhury Mufad Ahmed, additional secretary to the education ministry; Shahin Ahmed Chowdhury, director general of the Department of Women Affairs; Mahmuda Rahman Khan, senior programme development specialist, USAID Bangladesh; and Prof Geetiara Nasreen of Dhaka University also spoke.
