BYLC awards 6 alumni

Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) yesterday awarded six young leaders for their contribution to society. BYLC’s second alumni award ceremony was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital, says a press release.

Speaking as chief guest, Md Zahid Ahsan Russel, state minister for youth and sports, said, “Over the past 10 years, BYLC has played an important role in equipping our youth with important life skills and helping them become productive citizens.”

In his remarks, BYLC President Ejaj Ahmad said, “Through the alumni awards, we wanted to recognise the potential of our alumni and showcase value of youth leadership education.”

The 2019 BYLC alumni award winners are Mohammad Nakib, recipient of the Prime Minister’s Gold Medal 2016, for excellence in education; co-founder of Campaign RED Rubina Akter for social impact; Lt Sumaiya Afreen of Bangladesh Navy for professional excellence; photographer Kazi Md Jahirul Islam and filmmaker Sadia Tabassum for art and culture; and Abu Sayed Al Sagor, co-founder of BD Assistant Limited, for entrepreneurship and innovation.
