Call all-party meeting to stop killings
BNP yesterday urged the government to convene a meeting of all political parties to stop recurrence of such killings like Faisal Arefin Dipan.
Talking to journalists after visiting Dipan's father Prof Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq at his Poribagh residence, BNP Vice-Chairman Hafiz Uddin Ahmed also demanded that the government initiates a judicial inquiry to immediately bring the perpetrators to book.
There is no democracy in Bangladesh, he said, adding, "Religious bigots take up the opportunity to accomplish their mission when…the culture of impunity prevails in a country."
