Cardiac patient falls sick, dies at a pharmacy
A man suddenly fell sick and died as he was purchasing medicine from a shop in Bhatara in Dhaka today afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid, 45, an employee of a private security agency, police said.
Ezazul Haque, a sub-inspector of Bhatara Police Station, said the man went to the medicine shop at Natun Bazar area around 12:30pm and was asking for some medicine. Suddenly, he collapsed on the floor.
On information, police rushed there and a doctor later pronounced him dead, the SI said, adding that they recovered a prescription from his possession.
"The man was a cardiac patient. He went to meet a doctor at Mohammadpur today morning. He died while buying medicine from a pharmacy after returning from Mohammadpur," Moktaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Bhatara Police Station, said quoting his relatives and an employee of the pharmacy.
Auchabur Rahman, a colleague of the deceased, said Rashid, hailing from Chapainawabganj, was working with a security service for about a year.
