College student drowns in Hatirjheel lake

A college student drowned in Hatirjheel lake in the capital last night.

Rifat Hossain, 18, son of Abul Hossain of Rayer Bazar, was a class XI student of Ideal College on Central Road.

Locals took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after rescue. There was a cut in his neck, DMCH sources said.

Tejgaon Industrial Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Salahuddin said they heard that Rifat fell into the lake from a bridge there.
