Cuet student found dead in capital

A student of the Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) was found dead on the rooftop of a six-storey building in the capital's Boro Moghbazar area yesterday.

Tanvir Hasan Susan, 24, a third-year student of the department of mechanical engineering, came to visit his friend Baozid on Sunday from Chittagong, Sub-inspector of Ramna Police Station Mosharaf Hossain told The Daily Star.

Baozid used to live on the fourth floor of the building, the SI added.

On Monday, Susan's friends filed a general dairy after he went missing on that day, the SI said, adding, later his hanging body was found on the rooftop of the building yesterday morning.

Susan might have committed suicide over a family feud, he said.

The body of Susan, of Bojlapur village under Jamalpur Sadar, was handed over to his family members without an autopsy on their plea, the SI added.
