Cumilla spinning mills fire doused after 8hrs

After eight hours of relentless effort, the fire fighters doused the fire of RN Spinning mills at Cumilla EPZ early today.

Ten firefighting units from seven fire stations worked for eight hours to put out the blaze, said Ratan Kumer Nath, assistant director of fire service and civil defence.

Md Imran, a worker of the factory, said all workers were safely taken away from the factory after the fire originated from a warehouse around 9:30pm yesterday.

Later, the fire later spread to the production floor, he said. The fire caused huge damage at the factory.

No casualties were reported.
