Cumilla univ student held over FB post

A Cumilla University student was arrested yesterday in a case filed under Digital Security Act over a Facebook post.

The case was filed with Kotwali Model Police Station over his derogatory remarks on religion, said OC Abu Salam Mia.

Meanwhile, students of the university formed a human chain on the campus, demanding his punishment.

Proctor Dr Kazi Kamal Uddin said the student was suspended following the incident as in a preliminary investigation they found the allegation against him to be true.

The probe committee will submit a complete report soon, the proctor added.
